With over a decade of experience in industrial hygiene and safety, April has developed a strong background in identifying and mitigating occupational hazards. Her expertise spans various industries, including government agencies, healthcare, and construction. Currently, April serves as an Industrial Hygienist at the Department of Energy's Office of Worker Safety and Health, where she provides expert guidance on industrial hygiene matters, including beryllium, lead, asbestos, and chemical exposures. She has led working groups on revising worker safety and health guidance and developed techniques for effective communication.

Previously, she worked at the General Services Administration, Bureau of Reclamation, and Department of Veterans Affairs, where she conducted comprehensive onsite health and safety audits, provided expert advice on safety and health issues, and developed safety guidelines and programs.
