Vice Chair

Beth Walker, Safer Environment Ltd.

  

Beth works as a full-time consultant specializing in the chemical and manufacturing industry, although she advises for several large scale events and museums. She is the founder of Safer Environment Ltd. Beth has been in the health and safety profession for over 10 years, before that she worked as a Chef for over 15 years at Michelin Standard restaurants.  


Beth started her health and safety career in the asbestos industry, holding several senior health and safety management positions. There she developed a particular interest in understanding respiratory illnesses, which would direct her next career path.  She then moved into the beryllium industry working with Novanta for 4 years as their Principal Health, Safety, and Environment Officer. While working for Novanta, Beth was responsible for the health and safety design of a project to build a world class beryllium facility, which went on to be nominated for Health and Safety Manufacturing Company of the Year for its health and safety design focus and manufacturing processes. Beth continues advising Novanta and others as a Beryllium Program health and safety advisor.


Beth holds a master's degree in management of health, safety, and environment and is a chartered member of the Institute of Safety and Health.
