Josef has thirty years of experience as an interdisciplinary engineer and scientist in Academia, Government and Private Sectors with work experience in Australia, Brazil, China, and the United States. Josef maintains current credentials as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) and was formerly licensed as a Professional Geologist (PG). He has served as an Instructor/Lecturer/Professor at the university level responsible for developing and implementing a curriculum, defensible and publishable research and determining grades for undergraduate and graduate (MS and PhD) students at the University of Cincinnati, University of Texas at El Paso, University of Texas Health Science Center, and Shenyang University (China). His private sector work included geology and environmental engineering support for multinational and local environmental engineering companies. Josef has worked for the Department of Interior, Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy in various roles including as a Geologist, Supervisory and Senior Industrial Hygienist, Safety Engineer, and Worker Safety and Health Manager. Josef currently works as a Senior Industrial Hygienist for NNSA HQ’s Worker Safety and Health Services and previously worked at other Department of Energy Sites including the Idaho National Laboratory, Pantex Plant, Y-12 National Security Complex and the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Josef earned a PHD from the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering; MBA from Pfeiffer University; MS Geology from Western Washington University, and BA Geology from Appalachian State University.
