Eric is currently a Physical Scientist for the Nevada Field Office (previous NNSA positions include Physical Scientist NA-ESH-23, Deputy Assistant Manager for Operations and Safety NFO, and Industrial Hygienist NFO). Eric currently has functional responsibilities including Explosives Safety, Nuclear Explosives Safety pertaining to Nuclear Explosive Like Assemblies, Underground Safety, and serves as an alternate for ISM, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Medicine, and FEOSH. Eric has over 20 years of experience as a Health and Safety professional, with 11 years of experience in the Department of Energy (DOE) complex as both a contractor and federal employee within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Eric also has a comprehensive private industry background including: five years in safety and industrial hygiene for an Electronics Manufacturing facility, two years as a Regional as Health and Safety Technical Manager in heavy construction, over six years in private industry mining experience including work at a site level as well as at the corporate level covering domestic and international locations for health and safety. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health (emphasis in Industrial Hygiene) from Utah State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University. Eric was honorably discharged as a Non-Commissioned Officer, MOS qualified Combat Engineer for the Army National Guard. Eric holds and maintains nationally recognized credentials as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
